The President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan has ordered the army to “take all necessary measures” to stop the ethnic and religious riots in Plateau State.

The president’s office said in a statement that Jonathan had ordered Chief Marshall Oluseyi Petinrin Air Defense “to support fully the security situation in Plateau State immediately and take all necessary measures to stop recent wave murders in the state. ”

Nigeria is a federal state, where many authorities are normally processed in the state.
Two explosions occurred in a full open-air restaurant in the center of Jos on Sunday evening, the security officials. A witness said at least one person was injured, AFP reported.
More than 1,000 people died in ethnic and religious violence in Jos in the last two years.
The state is in the belt known as the center of Nigeria, primarily between the Muslim north and Christian south.
Violence is seen as religious, but many other factors that trigger it, including political rivalry, observers say.
Hausa-speaking Muslims are seen as opposition supporters in Plateau State, while ethnic Berom, who are mostly Christians, are considered for the Democratic People’s Party, in power at both state and federal.
