Police Arrest Several Wall Street Protesters

Police arrested 70 protesters earlier this month in New York Tuesday Zuccotti Park, including some who were chained together, while releasing the park, sanitation teams could clean it.

Concerns about the health and safety at the Wall Street Gather camps across the country has intensified and the protesters were ordered to remove their shelters, observe a curfew and movement, so the parks can be cleaned up.

At about 1:00 Tuesday handed NYPD posts on Brookfield Office Properties, owner of Zuccotti Park and the city says the park has been deleted because it was unsafe and dangerous. The protesters were told they could return in a few hours, but no sleeping bags, tarps or tents.

Paul Brown, spokesman for the New York police said the park was cleared by 4:30, and about 70 people who were in it were arrested, including a group that are chained together. One person was taken to a local hospital for evaluation due to respiratory problems.

The riot police filled the streets, lights flashing and sirens blaring car. The protesters, some shouting angrily police, started walking at two locations in Lower Manhattan, where they planned to hold rallies.

Some protesters refused to leave the park, but much remains peaceful.

Ben Hamilton, 29, said he was arrested, “and I was just trying to get away from the” From the scrum.

Rabbi Chaim Gruber, a collection of Wall Street members, police said were in the streets close to clearing Zuccotti Park.

“The police formed a human shield, and drive them all out,” he said.

Jake Rozak, another protester, said the police “had their pepper spray out and was ready to use it.”

Notice the protesters said the park “pose an increased risk of health safety and fire to the campers in the park, the first of the city and the surrounding community.”

He said the shops, sleeping bags and other items had to be withdrawn because “the storage of these materials on this site is not permitted.” He left everything withdraws the notice, he said, giving a speech at a building where sanitation service elements can be collected.
